ADS was a manufacturer of high quality home loudspeakers from the 1970s through at least the 1980s. Folks who were around in the 1980s will remember ADS’s perforated metal grilles and famous “sticky dome” mid-ranges and tweeters.

SUZUKI String Taishogoto Japanese HARP AUTOHARP ZITHER

The Taishōgoto is a kind of zither. It is basically a long acoustic sound box with strings stretched over it. The pegs used to tune the strings are on a device that resembles the head of an acoustic guitar. This instrument features numbered typewriter-like keys that press metal bars over the strings. It is played lengthwise so that the strings are tuned on the left side, and strummed with a pick on the right side. The right hand strums the strings on the right side of the instrument with a pick, while the left hand is used to press down on the keys that change the pitches of the strings. In this sense, the instrument is similar to the autoharp. There are also electric versions of the instrument, often featuring knobs and pick-ups like an electric guitar.

The Control® 25AV utilizes a deep cabinet, high power components and complex network to achieve extremely smooth high fidelity performance from a compact 2-way loudspeaker.

YAMAHA TX 802 TX802 FM Synthesizer Synth Tone Generator

Despite its name, the TX802 FM Tone Generator is basically a rack-module version of the DX7mkII with full 8-part multi-timbral operation for sequencing and/or key mapping. It has 16-voices of polyphony and six digital FM Operators, the same as in the DX7mkII. There are 128 preset and 64 user patches for your sounds, as well as an external memory cartridge slot.

As if the large keyboard DX versions weren't difficult enough to program, the TX802's limited interface makes editing and programming your own sounds next to impossible without the help of external hardware or software editors. In the late 1980's, the TX802 was an excellent way to get a compact box full of Yamaha's DX sounds. Today, however, computer software plug-ins such as Native Instrument's FM7 are definitely the way to go for DX and FM-based synth sounds!
